For the second year in a row, the Nashville AMA has been named one of the top chapters in the nation! NAMA won the first runner up position in the Chapter of Excellence (CEA) competition, receiving a cash award of $1500, a podium banner, and the opportunity to present our story at the annual leadership summit in April 2009.
Holding this position 2 years in a row is a huge testimony to the strength of our board leadership. Our success is truly a team effort and congratulations everyone for a job well done!
The 2008-2009 programming year brings with it many changes. Most notably, NAMA will begin hosting chapter luncheons at the Stadium Club in LP Field. “We are so excited to be moving to a larger venue,” remarks current president Bill Selph. “With all the growth we have experienced over the last few years, it is long overdue.” When asked how he feels members will react to the venue change, Bill is positive. “LP Field has so many benefits, like free parking, easy access from the interstate, and plenty of room to keep growing. I think our members will appreciate these amenities as well as the increased space.”
“The Nashville AMA chapter has seen double digit growth, and we have had to limit attendance at our monthly luncheon meetings due to space constraints,” notes Susan Hassell, NAMA president elect. “It's vital for the future of NAMA to offer the entire Nashville marketing community access to our meetings -- while still having room to network with each other before the programs.”
Please remember the entrance to the Stadium Club is located on the downtown side of the stadium. Use the west entrance and park in lot S. (Download the parking map and directions here.)
NAMA's new Academic Angels Student Sponsorship Program invites NAMA members to help make it possible for area college students to attend monthly luncheons, network with marketing professionals, learn about internship and job opportunities, and more!
Here's how it works:
The Academic Angels program is coordinated by NAMA's Collegiate Relations Committee, whose mission is to be an essential resource for aspiring marketing professionals through networking opportunities, professional development, and the opportunity to contribute to the profession through chapter board participation and leadership.
