A Moment with our Members: Jim Kropp + Nick Holland

Meet Jim Kropp

NAMA Treasurer and Principal of Click Fundraising.org

Q: Hi, Jim. What do you do?

Jim Kropp, Treasurer

Click Fundraising.org helps youth groups, churches, schools and individuals raise money with online sales and contributions. It’s a very flat organizational structure; I do everything.

Q: Would you tell us some marketing words to live by?

There truly is an opportunity in every situation. I was faced with $400,000 of licensed product that would have to be destroyed. I partnered with Nickelodeon’s “Let’s Just Play” program to fight childhood obesity and created a program to sell the inventory and donate playground equipment to schools. We reached two million students,  sold the inventory and donated $750,000 in equipment to schools.

Q: Can you tell us about your past jobs, felonies, misdemeanors?

Past jobs –American Greetings , Director of Marketing for Specialty Markets

Teters Floral Products, Vice President of Marketing

Then the fun facts; I fired someone for going on “The Jerry Springer Show,” faked being in band to avoid telling my parents I’d quit, and, of course, got an “Unsatisfactory” in “Sharing things with others” in kindergarten.

Q:  Your favorite movie and album

Favorite movie — “The Sting”

Album — Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – “Deja Vu”

Q:  What would people be surprised to know about you?

I’ve traveled to China more than 20 times since 1987.

How can people find you?

Nick Holland, Programming Chair

A Chat with Nick Holland

NAMA Programming Chair and CEO/Founder of centresource

Q: Hi, Nick, how do you envision your role at centresource?

As CEO/Founder, I set the vision for our organization and help our leadership team execute that vision.

Q: What’s a best lesson learned about marketing?

I’m a sucker for infomercials. This drives home the point that you should know your audience and manipulate them when they are sleep deprived :)

Q: What are your past jobs/felonies/misdemeamors?

I used to be a financial analyst in the energy industry. While I didn’t work FOR Enron, I did work WITH Enron… and a bunch of those guys got felonies. Also, I’d willingly earn a misdemeanor for smashing the camera of paparazzi.

Q:  What’s your favorite movie, album, TV show?

  • “Liar Liar”
  • Metallica: “Metallica”
  • “Heroes”

Q:  Name one thing that people would be surprised to know about you.

I ran for City Council (At Large) in 2007 – and promptly swore off participating in politics forever :)

Thanks. What’s your contact info?
